Timothy Powers, Co-Chairman and Co-Founder of Chrysalis Energy Partners, is a well respected political and legislative strategist. Previous to joining Chrysalis, Mr. Powers has spent more than two decades in the Government Relations arena, co-founding Artemis Strategies in the fall of 2002. Previous to Artemis, Mr. Powers operated PowerStrategies, a public affairs and government relations firm he founded. PowerStrategies' clientele included corporations focused on issues in the environmental, high tech, telecommunications, tax, housing and financial services, and trade arenas.

Beginning in 1995, Mr. Powers spent seven years as a Principal at Podesta Associates. His primary responsibilities included the development, management and implementation of all aspects of client strategies, primarily in the areas of high tech, biotechnology, healthcare, entertainment, telecommunications, financial services and the environment. Clients have included PhRMA, Genentech, Genzyme, 3M, MCI, Mt. Sinai / NYU Hospitals, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and GE Capital Mortgage (now Genworth Financial).

Mr. Powers joined Podesta after serving two years as Deputy Director of the Republican National Committee's (RNC) Congressional Affairs and Strategic Planning operation. His role there included working directly with the House and Senate Republican leadership on the crime bill, healthcare legislation and rollout of the "Contract with America". After the pivotal 1994 elections, Mr. Powers was appointed by RNC Chairman Haley Barbour to serve as the RNC's primary liaison with the notable 1995 Freshman class (representing nearly one-third of the House Republican Conference). Under President George H. W. Bush, Mr. Powers served at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as Deputy to the Assistant Administrator for the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER). Mr. Powers also served in pervious roles at the worldwide public affairs firm Burson-Marsteller, and as Director of Government Affairs at Primerica Financial Services (part of the Travelers Group).

A political veteran, Mr. Powers has worked in more than a dozen federal and state campaigns. His roles have included Deputy Regional Field Director for the Dole for President campaign (1988) and Ohio Field Director for the Bush/Quayle campaigns. In the 2000 election cycle, Mr. Powers served roles on the Bush for President campaign teams in Iowa and Pennsylvania and, after the election, was appointed to the Bush/Cheney Presidential transition team at the U.S. Department of Commerce. In 2002, Mr. Powers was named by Campaigns and Elections magazine as a "Top Rising Star" of Politics - an honor reserved for only a handful of individuals of both parties from across the United States.

Florida native, Mr. Powers is a graduate of Lee University (Cleveland, TN) with a B.S. in Communications. He and his wife Ellen have two children.
