Ari Strauss, a Principal with Chrysalis Energy Partners, has over 14 years of expertise in government and public affairs dealing with energy issues including energy efficiency and renewable energy development, generation and energy infrastructure development, clean coal technology, and environmental safety programs.
Mr. Strauss is also a Senior Vice President of Artemis Strategies, a successful government relations firm in Washington, DC, which represents diverse interests before the government sector, including major energy producers and developers, pharmaceutical interests, food manufacturers, financial service providers, innovative technology ventures and several communications companies.
A native of Reading, Pennsylvania, Mr. Strauss began his career as a long standing figure in the Office of Congressman Tim Holden (D-PA), Vice Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee and Chairman of its Conservation, Credit, Energy and Research Subcommittee. During his decade there, Strauss served in various capacities, serving as the Congressman's Legislative Director and top policy advisor for energy and environment policy, agriculture, healthcare, transportation and infrastructure, defense, international relations, financial services and other topics. Congressman Holden's district is home to the largest deposit of anthracite coal in North America and Mr. Strauss served as the Congressman's point man on developing federal efforts for research and development in clean coal technology and coal liquefaction into alternative fuels.
Mr. Strauss later became the Legislative Director for the Northeast-Midwest Senate Coalition, a bipartisan caucus of 29 Senators from the New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwestern regions of the country. Chaired by Senators Jack Reed (D-RI) and Susan Collins (R-ME), the caucus is dedicated to economic vitality, environmental quality, and regional equity for Northeast and Midwest states. As Legislative Director, Mr. Strauss developed and coordinated the caucus' efforts on economic development, manufacturing, energy efficiency and clean energy development, appropriations, water quality, environmental protection and smart growth concerns.
Mr. Strauss is a graduate of Hofstra University with a B.S. in Applied Economics. He resides in Washington DC.
